This was looking like it was going to be the second consecutive Streaking in Public LIVE. Alas, the French Open struck again and the 9:00 AM start time for John Isner vs Jeremy Chardy was pushed back to 10:30. The start time has made an ENORMOUS shift of 0.1% towards the underdog any other result. Nevertheless, let's get to today's streaking action.
The Indians put a hurting on the Rangers yesterday. It didn't bother me because amid all the runs Cleveland was scoring, Prince Fielder got a hit to push my Beat the Streak entry to a W4. I'll stay in the American League West with my pick today, reigning MVP Mike Trout. The rub is that Trout hasn't produced a single winning day for me on Streaking in Public in 2015. His hit was cancelled out by an Eric Hosmer 0-fer in a double down on SIP 91. He lost all by his lonesome on SIP 95 during my worst run in the game this year. He nearly killed my famed W14 on SIP 118, only to be saved by the mulligan. That W14 would of course fall the next day. So as you can see, Trout hasn't quite been a lucky charm for me thus far on Beat the Streak. But come on, he's facing a guy named Buck Farmer. Mike Trout has to get a hit off a guy with an 80's WCW jobber name!
Yesterday was a crazy day on Streak for the Cash. The French Open continues to flummox and frustrate me. I'd have an unprecedented second blue star this month if not for the constant venue and time changing of the Ekaterina Makarova match. I would have had a second chance at that if I had picked the Mariners over the Rays instead of the Mets over the Phillies. The Mets won, but didn't finish off the Phils in time for me to pick the Tigers, another potential W, at 3:35. Then today, a chance at a five pick day went out the window with the aforementioned Isner/Chardy time change. I'll still try to get my four picks in and hopefully be on a W13, which would be my second best run ever, come tomorrow morning. Here's today's lineup:
- 16th seeded John Isner to win in either three or four sets over Frenchman Jeremy Chardy (French Open)
- Hamburg SV to win the first leg of their Bundesliga relegation playoff outright against Karlsruher (German football)
- #5 ranked Michigan to defeat #6 ranked Alabama in Game One of their three game quarterfinal (Women's College World Series)
- C.C. Sabathia and the New York Yankees to defeat Kendall Graveman and the Oakland A's on the road
Drive To The Finals returns on Thursday, June 4th with Game One of the NBA Finals between the Warriors and Cavaliers. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
