Yesterday was definitely a first for me on Streaking In Public. It was the first time that I had two players not play on Beat the Streak, not breaking my run nor advancing it. The Dodgers and Rockies were rained (or snowed) out leaving Adrian Gonzalez out of the mix. Matt Carpenter got a rare day off against Pittsburgh. They probably could have used him as they lost 7-5 to the Buccos.
I'll be using an all two familiar pair on Beat the Streak today. As you should expect by now, Adrian Gonzalez will be one half of my double down tandem. The other will be none other than my second most picked player, Miami's Dee Gordon. Now Gordon sat the last time I paired these two together on SIP 109. If anybody is going to not play today, it is probably going to be Gonzalez. I mean, look at Coors Field as of this morning.
There will not be a snow problem with my Streak for the Cash pick today. I will be taking the New York Mets for the third time in my current streak to beat the Philadelphia Phillies. The human beanbag chair known as Bartolo Colon takes the mound for New York against former Dodger Chad Billingsley for the Phils. The Mets are 2-0 for me in May, including a win from the ageless Colon. The Phillies are in bad shape and today will just further that en route to an all too elusive blue star (W10) for myself.
What can I say about Drive To The Finals? I really don't want to say much of anything. I'm really fucking terrible at this game. I should have stayed away from the war of attrition that Wizards/Hawks is becoming but if I did that I would have picked somebody from the Grizzlies. And they won too! These playoffs are nutty and as unpredictable as any I've witnessed for quite some time. I'll be hoping the insanity continues tonight as the Clippers look to go up 3-1 on Houston with Chris Paul still not 100%. My pick tonight, James Harden, is due to explode for a 40 point game one of these nights right? Right? HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
