I feel like Sammy Sosa because baseball has been berry, berry good to me lately. America's pastime has me on two separate and unprecedented winning streaks. I've had good runs before, but never concurrently on Beat the Streak and Streak for the Cash. Now if only I could get my head around these nutty NBA Playoffs.
Another day, another double down. Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Donaldson combined to make it another successful day on Beat the Streak for yours truly. The Jays put up a touchdown on Boston and LA eked out a rain shortened win over the Rockies. I'll be pairing up Matt Carpenter with Adrian today. Carpenter is hitting .667 against his opposition today, Pittsburgh's Vance Worley. The good thing is if by some act of Satan I am not successful today, I have my handy dandy mulligan in tow because my current streak is between 10 and 15.
On Streak for the Cash, I am riding the baseball train until it derails. Johnny Cueto and the Reds have been up and down thus far in 2015 but today should be a slam dunk. Johnny Cueto is 12-5 all-time against the American League with a 2.48 ERA. He will face off against Hector Noesi who has yet to win in 2015 and has been garbage in the process. This afternoon will leave me just one minuscule victory away from a vaunted blue star.
Leaving baseball aside for a second, I am going with the overwhelming favorite tonight in Washington's Bradley Beal. Beal is being picked by 39% of Drive To The Finals players. That is 3X the second most picked player, Zach Randolph at 13%. With John Wall out, Beal is going to have to shoulder more of the burden to keep the Wiz in the playoffs. I think that Atlanta would have dispatched of Washington anyways, but it is going to be more expedited now. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!
