Boy did I need this break in the NBA Playoffs. As my unprecedented dual success continued on the baseball diamond, my continued faltering on the hardwood didn't wane. I am up to a pair of W6's in Beat The Streak and Streak For The Cash while a second consecutive 24 PRA, this time from Kyrie Irving, has me in the 57th percentile on Drive To The Finals. Maybe a day off to recharge the old battery will do me some good. Or maybe it will just allow that stink to permeate to one of the other two games. I'm desperately hoping that it is the former.
I will be going with my fifth consecutive Adrian Gonzalez double down today on Beat the Streak. Joining this main cast member is recurring star Miguel Cabrera. It is the two-time MVP's third time here on SIP in 2015 with mixed results thus far (L-SIP 96, W-SIP 104). Both men have day games today so I'll know my fate before I even take a bite of my dinner. Gonzalez takes on Milwaukee's Mike Fiers, whom he is just 1-for-4 against. Cabrera will square off with the White Sox's Jose Quintana. Here's to some non-sexual afternoon delight!
How Gonzalez performs on Beat The Streak will also affect my Streak For The Cash hopes as I am banking on the Dodgers to avoid a second straight defeat to the last team in the Majors yet to break double digit wins. Milwaukee battered young Joe Wieland last night. The hope is that Carlos Frias can avoid a similar fate. He's yet to allow a run thus far in 7 2/3 innings so I like my chances, but this game can be a cruel mistress sometimes. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
