Streaking In Public's trip to the Century Club produced some mixed results. As expected, Blake Griffin turned in a merely pedestrian performance in a blowout loss to San Antonio. This continued my trend of picking the wrong guy on the wrong day on Drive To The Finals. The Braves loss calamitously to the Philadelphia Phillies on a ninth inning Freddie Freeman error to show that even good Streak for the Cash players like Al go horribly astray on SIP. The lone bright spot was Robinson Cano's 1-for-4 against the Twins. You know you are in dire straights when a dribbler up the middle is the bright spot of your day.
On Beat the Streak today, my pick is going to be Ian Desmond of the Washington Nationals. While Desmond has been an absolute butcher in the field as of late (8 errors in 17 games), he's continued to hit. He takes on Miami's Tom Koehler today. Desmond is just 3-for-11 lifetime against the Marlins righty but Koehler has been more than hittable in 2015. He sports a 6.75 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through three starts. Desmond will add to that despair this afternoon.
I am hoping my jinxing ways have subsided on Drive To The Finals. The Nets are down 2-0 to the top seeded Hawks and will need a big game from Joe Johnson to stave off a three game deficit. I am of course picking Johnson which can only mean Mr. Johnson is going to have a game that'll surely produce an aneurysm or three for WFAN mid-day host Evan Roberts. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
