How is this happening? During recording of last night's Blading Your Colors podcast (check out or back catalog here ), I saw that the Tampa Bay Lightning had fallen behind 1-0. I was loopy from 24 hours of air travel and I thought I had done myself in. Placing my faith in a road team that had just lost the night before to Edmonton? I had plenty of ammunition for a complete blameapalooza, myself at the front of the line. However, the Streak Gods weren't ready for my magical run to end yet. They were fearful of salty, angry Trevor making his return. The Streak Gods couldn't have that. Valterri Filppula scored with less than three minutes remaining to send the game into overtime. Ondrej Palat, the goat the night before, needed about those same three minutes to score the game winner in OT. With that I am at a W13, a feat only before accomplished by a BYC Streaker Alfredo years ago. (You can join our Streak group "We Going Streaking" on ESPN with the password dundies) I try to hit the extra point today for a new group record of W14. I am attempting to do so with the services of one of my supported teams' (Liverpool) bitter rivals, Arsenal.
The Gunners are 1-0-1 in their UEFA Champions League campaign thus far. They were magnificent in a 4-1 victory over Galatasaray at home, with deadline signing Danny Welbeck netting a hat trick. They were not so much in their first game allowing goals on either side of half time in a loss to Borussia Dortmund. Today they travel to Belgium to face their champion, RSC Anderlecht. Anderlecht has had a shaky start to their group stage. They weren't able to hold their lead against Galatasaray, giving up two points in stoppage time. The Belgians got pounded 3-0 by Dortmund at home in their latest contest. Road Champions League games are always tough, especially with a team as banged up as Arsenal. I just think that Anderlecht is the worst team in Group D and if Arsenal wants to keep pace with Dortmund after losing to them, they need to get all three points from this game. I think they will, or else why would I pick them, and I'll be gunning for the first ever BYC silver star (W15) come tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the Rock putting a verbal smackdown on Billy Gunn from Raw in 1999. See what I did there with all the gun correlations? HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
