I am so close to .500 I can taste it. While the NBA saddled me with two losses last night, the NHL evened my overall record for the day with a perfect 2-0. Tampa Bay handled Calgary at home doubling the 1.5 goal line with a three goal victory. Winnipeg and Pittsburgh had the over before they even went to the shootout to decide their winner. Being just two games under level pegging for 2014-15, I am going to pick just the two games for this evening. OK, that isn't entirely true. I am mostly just picking two games because I wouldn't get picks in for the 7:00 games in on time and Detroit vs. New Jersey has nothing but the money line available. For this evening my spread pick will be Washington vs. Chicago. I am going with the Capitals plus a goal and a half even though I have won just once picking them previously. Hopefully tonight they get me number two as they take on a Blackhawks squad who won't have the services of Patrick Sharp for at least a month. My second pick is of the over/under variety and it involves my favorite team not wearing a note on their chest, the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks weren't able to beat the 5.5 goal over with the Islanders at home two days ago but I am hoping facing lesser competition will help them. The Coyotes are just two points out of the cellar of the Western Conference and have allowed 44 goals on the year, the fifth worst mark in the entire NHL. Anaheim has their own goaltending woes of late as well. Surely this spells an over right? On to the picks!
